The Staff
Practice Manager
Mrs Karla Carson oversees the day-to-day administration and non-clinical aspects of the practice. She will be happy to discuss any queries, comments or suggestions you may have relating to the service offered by the practice.
Practice Manager Assistant
Ms Erin Dalton supports the Practice Manager to ensure the smooth running of the practice.
Receptionists
We have six receptionists. They are here to help you and their job is very demanding. They answer the telephone and deal with enquiries from all directions - often all at the same time. So please be patient and respectful.
Practice Nurses
Our practice nurses are Liz Redmond and Sarah Houston. They aim to provide a high quality of care in an efficient and friendly manner. Sarah covers the treatment room which includes blood tests, wounds and dressings, suture removal and travel vaccinations. Sarah also runs the baby clinics. Liz runs the Asthma, Diabetic and Smear Clinics.
Healthcare Assistant
Our Healthcare Assistant is Sue Boyd. She covers the treatment room which includes blood testing, minor dressing, suture removal.
Practice Pharmacists
Cathy Ryan IP
Julie Whitten IP
Our Practice Pharmacists work along side our doctors and will help will resolve medicine issues and queries by consulting with patients, pharmacies and hospitals directly. They are involved in the issue of repeat and acute medication, dealing with hospital discharges and out patient letters and reviewing patients medications.
Medical Students
We are a Queen's University Belfast Medical School Teaching Practice hosting medical students on placement. The curriculum and learning objectives for each stage in their undergraduate training ensures that by the end of medical school they have a broad understanding of the role of a GP and General Practice as a career option. They benefit hugely from speaking to patients, and many of our patients say how much they enjoy talking to medical students.
As a patient you may be seen by a medical student under the supervision of a qualified Practice clinician. You can, of course, decline this option. Please do let our reception team know if you would prefer not to be seen by our student.
These are our doctors of the future and as a practice we are proud to be a part of their journey.
